25. Belle Baker and Gerald Marks

This week: Belle Baker was a vaudevillian headliner who preferred vaudeville to Broadway. She felt to the end of her life that she was 100% vaudevillian. A hugely popular singer who made hits out of songs and songwriters. She introduced “All of Me” which was composed by vaudevillian songwriter Gerald Marks. Listen to Gerald tell the story of how he pitched the song to Belle and how he co-wrote “Is it True What they Say About Dixie”. Marks is a wonderful story teller.
