100 Years ago today in Winnipeg Vaudeville two of the greatest vaudevillians stepped onto center stage at the Orpheum Theatre in downtown Winnipeg. They were Bert Williams and J. Rosamond Johnson. Not only were they two of the best songwriters, entertainers, comedians in the business, they achieve great heights in spite of the racial injustices, indignities and social blocks. At one point, Bert Williams made more money than the President of the United States. Both men were respected by all and revered in the civil rights worlds.
